11 January 2021 – Start Each Week with Purpose

Weekly YES Quote!

“The decisions do not have to be so large. Sometimes the matter to be weighed is taking a walk versus making a poem.”

Dr. Clarissa Pinkola

Weekly Reflection

Happy Monday my beautiful readers!

As a matter of fact: Happy second Monday of 2021! Not that I’m counting… or anything…

Okay yes, I’m counting… I admit it. But I’m only counting because I’m thinking about the amount of time remaining dedicated to the intentions I’ve set for the 2021 calendar year (for more on setting your intentions, check out last week’s blog post here: 4 January 2021 – Set Your Intentions).

Think about it: out of the 365 days in 2021 there are only 52 weeks meaning that there are only 52 Mondays meaning that there are only 52 starts to each week of the 2021 calendar year.

The number 52 doesn’t seem very large because it isn’t that large.

Let that soak in a bit… there are only 52 starts to each week in 2021.

In addition to setting the intention to stay dry during the month of January, I’ve also set the intention to ensure a blog post goes live every Monday in 2021.

That means that there will be 52 weekly yes quotes gracing your preferred digital viewing surface every Monday!

While that doesn’t seem like very many blog posts, and truly 52 posts is quite a low volume of posting occurring when other bloggers are cranking out multiple posts in a day, it’s a lot for me to commit to while balancing everything else I have going on in my life.

So then why bother to ensure a post goes live every Monday if I’m feeling that I’m oh so busy? Because it provides me time to reflect on my own life, to share with you a reflection that may resonate with you, to challenge myself to do better in this life, and to hopefully challenge you to do better in yours.

Every day, every breath, every step… every chance to check in with ourselves to ask ourselves if we’re on the right path or to redirect ourselves if we realize through that checking in time that we’re not on the right path is essential towards our growth – we need this time, even if it’s only 52 times out of the calendar year.

As this week’s quote by Dr. Clarissa Pinkola reminds us,

“The decisions do not have to be so large. Sometimes the matter to be weighed is taking a walk versus making a poem.”

Regardless if this Monday is seemingly the worst, best, or somewhere in the middle start to your week, remember: there are only 50 Mondays remaining after this one.

So, rather than sulk, swim, or be impartial in your feelings towards this Monday and ultimately this week, make the decision to start this week with purpose.

I’ve made the decision to post 52 times this year dedicated to kickstarting the week. This isn’t a massive undertaking, but it’s important to me, and I hope it benefits you.

Weekly Challenge

The overall intention of this blog is about saying yes to your life so that you can live a flourishing, happy life.

Do yourself a favor and close your eyes, take a deep breath in through your nose so that you can feel the air filling every inch of your body, hold it for 3 seconds, and then release it through your open mouth letting whatever negative energies your breath picked up along the way: LET. THEM. GO.

If you feel you weren’t able to expel all the negative energies, simply continue the breathing pattern until you feel centered and present.

Challenge yourself to be present.

When you feel yourself falling off your path, being drug away from your path, or losing sight of your path, come back to this place – come back to this place of peace and centering.

For most 2021 isn’t much different than 2020 – I include myself in this count.

That’s why the intentions I’ve set this year have been more important to me than ever – my intentions have centered me and helped me to focus on what’s most important to me so that I can continue to grow on my life path.

52 starts in 2021 and today marks the 2nd of those starts leaving only 50 more starts remaining.

Challenge yourself to make the most of the remaining starts to this year.

Challenge yourself to make every moment count.

Challenge yourself to ensure that no matter the obstacles you’ve yet to face or the hardships you’ve already had to endure, that you’re committed to your intentions and that you see them through.

Challenge yourself to start this week and every week of your life with purpose.

I’ll be challenging myself right alongside you.

Reminder to Just Say Yes!

As always, say yes to experiences that present themselves to you! Life is full of fun and wonder – don’t be stuck at home wondering what life could be like, should be like, would be like… drop that nonsense! Get out there, say yes, and never look back!

We each have a unique journey, and I would love to share in yours.
