Weekly Reflection

My heart is sad.

My heart is heavy.

My heart is strong.

These last two weeks haven’t been the best for me: my close friend who I’d been in direct contact with contracted the novel coronavirus, and I thought I may be infected wherein I may have infected my CEO, General Manager, and basically the entire staff at my office; and my best friend, Nick, and I decided to separate once our lease ends meaning the real life Will & Grace won’t be living together any longer.

These two intense and personal situations have distracted me from writing the weekly Monday YES post in addition to living my full and happy life.

I let the stress overwhelm me.

I forgot to look at the glass half full or even at the glass at all.

I know I can get through both of these happenings.

I am a strong, capable woman who can and will achieve whatever I set my mind to.

And that’s exactly what I did: I took action when I felt extremely helpless, overwhelmed, and sad.

I researched COVID-19 rapid testing facilities, booked an appointment, got tested… results: negative.

Massive sigh of relief.

I hugged Nick, cried with Nick, and started the apartment search. I not only found a nice place within my budget and location preferences, but Nick went with me to look at it. So although it won’t be his and mine, in a way the new spot will have a little sparkle of Nick in it.

Cue more tears, but at least these tears are of happiness.

Change is hard. Life is hard.

No one ever said that life would be easy.

And it’s good to feel – it’s good to acknowledge what stresses us out, but it’s not good to let the stress win us over so that we’re unable to function.

Weekly Challenge

Is there something or some things that have been distracting you?

We all have stressors and things that trigger an emotional response that causes a detriment to our smiles.

It’s natural to hit obstacles that seem like massive boulders we’ll never be able to climb over and move past.

And when I say, “move past,” I’m talking about arms pumping, legs kicking, and energy bursting from your miraculous body. I’m talking about striding with pride, dignity, and joy as you move past that obstacle!

If anything has been ailing you recently please, challenge yourself to take on the challenge and manage the stress.

Do not let the stress manage you.

For you are brave, bold, strong, and capable. You can and will overcome anything you set your mind to.

Reminder to Just Say Yes!

As always, say yes to experiences that present themselves to you! Life is full of fun and wonder – don’t be stuck at home wondering what life could be like, should be like, would be like… drop that nonsense! Get out there, say yes, and never look back!
