Weekly YES Quote!

“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m possible’!

Weekly Reflection

This past week was… just okay.

I’ve settled into my new norm by working my remote and in office days, yoga from home, running my neighborhood, occasional grocery store trip, and social hour via video chatting friends and family.

Nothing out of the new norm to report there.

But something just didn’t feel right.

So here I am, late on a Sunday night, writing tomorrow’s blog post. Yep, last minute here we go.

It’s not that I wanted to do this last minute… truly I usually get these written sometime mid to late week and then spend some time proofreading over the weekend to ensure the post is ready for Monday.

This week, however, I just couldn’t muster up the inspiration to write this post until now.

And I finally understand why it is that it’s taken me so long to have the inspiration to write this post: this past week I settled.

It’s like I’ve been resuming my previous robot lifestyle wherein I take no time for myself to branch, reach, or strive outside of the already time-constrained schedule.

I’ve been given an opportunity to shake it up, change my routine, and hit the accelerator in ways I wasn’t able to before. Yet here I’ve caught myself settling…

Have you caught yourself settling lately?

Have you caught yourself thinking I have the time! I should read that book, test out that new recipe, clean out the closet that I’ve been shoving stuff into, call up that friend who I’ve been wanting to get in touch with…? Instead of capitalizing on the time you’ve been presented with to accomplish what you’ve been wanting to achieve you catch yourself postponing even further.

You’re not alone if you have, and please don’t let yourself think for one second that it’s all lost.

Each day is a new day. Each day anything can happen.

Each day is your opportunity for something more… something better!

You just have to decide to not settle in and let your life coast by.

No one or thing can hold you back other than yourself.

Weekly Challenge

Have you felt yourself settling into the new norm lately?

Be honest. It’s okay if you have.

Don’t forget you, in at least some ways, settled into your life before you were forced to make changes.

We are creatures of habit.

We enjoy what we enjoy and some of us find it harder to branch out more than others, but at the end of the day even those who took a leap felt extremely uncomfortable in the process despite their ability to overcome their fears to push for what they wanted.

Here we are!

We will be triumphant in our lives because we were and are able to adapt.

I almost lost site of why I write the Monday blog post until I came to these realizations today.

My friend even mentioned to me that writing a weekly post ready for release on Monday mornings was a lot of pressure… not discrediting this statement because it can feel like a lot of pressure to come up with material for sharing, but I love writing these posts!

Writing the weekly yes quote post helps me to kick-start my week by providing myself with a weekly check-in to see how I’ve felt emotionally and physically, where I feel I need to make changes, and what actions I need to take in order to get to the next step. I hope the posts empower you to do the same.

So let this serve as a reminder if you’re starting to feel yourself settling in: you can do anything you set your mind to.

If you want something that bad, you can achieve it. As Audrey Hepburn says in this week’s quote,

“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m possible’!”

So don’t settle when it matters most. Reach! Strive! Push!

Simply put: don’t settle when there’s more you want out of life than what you already have.

You are possible.

You are amazing.

You will get to the next step.

If… you don’t settle, and you believe in yourself the way I believe in you.

Reminder to Just Say Yes!

As always, say yes to experiences that present themselves to you! Life is full of fun and wonder – don’t be stuck at home wondering what life could be like, should be like, would be like… drop that nonsense! Get out there, say yes, and never look back!
